Violet
Violet relates to the crown chakra - our springboard to godhead. It's a spiritually upifting and powerful colour, with a high vibration. It's of most use when engaged in meditative or spiritual activities, because it disassociates us from everyday life and allows us to make intuitive leaps of growth.
The true shade of the colour is the same one as shows on the petals of a wild violet (not the cultivated variety) and in this tone it brings tranquillity and stillness, backed up with a heightened sense of psychic awareness.
Paler shades are very useful for people who are convalescing after long illnesses, and for nervousness and anxiety. These aren't good shades to have around you in large quantities anywhere where you need to concentrate on mundane matters, though, because you'll find yourself drifting off all the time!!
Darker tones move towards purple, where the spiritual energy begins to channel down into physical life. Here we see flamboyance, regality and power radiating outward - some people can find this a little overpowering!!!
