You've Heard about GDPR?
expect so, by now. This is an important re-evaluation about how
companies you deal with online handle the data you choose to
give. It's a really good law. It puts a requirement on "the data
processor" (that's me) to keep your info safe, and treat it with the
extreme respect it deserves. As it stands, this law applies to
companies which operate within the EU - whether because (like us)
they're based there, or because they deal with EU citizens (which we
do). But I think this is such good legislation it should apply to all
of you, regardless of where you live in the world. When I
ran an audit on our practises I was really pleased to recognise we
already comply with this legislation. So we extend this cover and
standard of doing business to all of you, without reservation.
What you have a right to expect:
- that your information is kept secure (it is)
that third parties we work with are fully compliant (they are, but I
cannot say they apply the same global application as we do)
- that as far as possible you should be able to access information held by us yourselves, and change it where necessary
that we are willing and happy to respond fully to enquiries about data
held by us about you, and to implement any changes requested by you.
- that we will only ever use data provided to us by you for the stated intended purpose you agreed to on supplying it.
- that where changes occur in this policy we will tell you so, and if necessary, seek your agreement.
- that we will not retain your information in contradiction to your instructions, or for longer than 6 years (*see note below)
the short version ;-) The long legal version is below. I am very
protective of my own online information. I therefor assume you
are the same. We have never and will never sell your contact
info, history of activity on this site, or personally divulged
information with anybody else.
As a general rule we retain
info about you for as long as the tax authorities in Britain require us
to (6 years). However, an exception to this can be transcripts of
readings. I hold on to these because on occasion people lose their
copy, and want to go back to read over. However if you want me to
delete - tell me so. I will, of course, comply to your request.

to share your data outside of the European Economic Area. This
will typically occur when service providers are located outside the EEA

retained fot longer, where practical).
