For those writers out there, how do you maintain the momentum of writing? What is your trick to finding or letting the story out?

Are you writing a book or a blog?

I've been writing a childrens/coming of age/teen book..
and at the moment busy getting content for my self development blog

my experience: most inspirations come whilst in or after meditation

a friend of mine advised me to keep momentum by keeping a regular schedule
(get up & breakfast stuff, than get some tea and fruit to snack or something and go sit for 2h)
you will get used to that, so will the mind..

for others a long walk can help, or gardening..
somehow the shower gives me insights

thank you. Trying to create a schedule that seems to be working. Will try some of your other ideas though.

I honestly do not think you can compare writing "factual" work to writing fiction. My attempts at fiction are wholly sporadic, undisciplined and erratic...... Work on "fact" stuff is much more structured - I write a plan then I write to the plan....bit like essay-writing. So...in short...I am no help at all. But good luck with your attempts to bring a little order in.

Loadsa love

Remember whence you came
Walk lightly, leaving whispers for footprints

Thank you. Surprisingly that's how I've been working. I've made a plan of sorts of how it should go then write. So far I've managed 1000 words a day which is not bad and I've only skipped the weekends.
