All things considered I'm glad things are progressing the way they should and that he's receiving the correct treatment. May he find lasting pain relief.

Indeed..despite the pain and (loads of) discomfort..gratefulness is a strong tool. So is acceptance. If one cannot change ones situation, its highly useful to alter how we perceive that situation...

Does he meditate..or open to it?
Wildminds starts two new (free) courses, choose one: lovingkindness for self & others, and learning the habit if daily meditation. Starting 1st april (enlisting till 6th). It has helped me find much needed peace. Having narcolepsy has been difficult to accept. Not being able to do what i used to..while still young, etc etc..
There is also an online thread for support when somehow ill.. Nice to know to not be alone in such, painwise etc..

Hugs!

The hospital appt for 2nd opinion is May 29th. The letter states they may do more tests, another scan. They may give injection or refer to surgeon. The triage team want full investigation before advising further. He can do gentle walks but much else is still too painful. Positivity at least he now has the appt.

Thankyou Jan...I think both he and I are kinda prepared for him going down the surgery route. Its really painful for him to carry even light things and to be active for very long at all. Still we shall see. His dad had surgery for similar and it put him right so all isnt lost. Its just the thoughts of it i guess.

I think surgery is always scary. I have to admit to being Mrs Chicken in this department.

Me too Jan, and I think he is putting on a brave face for me bless him. Although having said that I also know he has really had enough of being so restricted now and its dragging him down a bit, he is naturally a very active young man. Thankfully his partner is a very positive influence and her family have taken to him like a son of their own. Lots of support around him. I am having faith that this appointment on the 29th will bring at least some relief in the knowledge what can be done. They may do injection on the day, if I recall correctly these injections can be given up to 3 times, not sure how far apart but its month or so rather than weeks am sure, if the patient needs a 4th its usually an operation. I think thats it in simple terms unless there is new things in place. He has had so much stress over the past 2 years that at one point I was thinking his muscles must be so tight they would ping, this may also am sure not have helped. Thankfully the source of the stress has now been eliminated (hopefully please Goddess) and all has gone quiet on that front.
I have given him breathing relaxing techniques to do, relaxing gently so as not to make any muscular pain worse. Its got to help a bit, as for the spinal discs etc well thats for the specialist and thankfully he will see him/her on 29th.
