I think yes, because it fills a need we have. People goes to the psychologist because they need to find a path, in like manner people ask the tarot

Same question..other day..same cards you mean?
Than the answer is plain, the essence remains the same..listen to it!
You could go to a psychologist, but that would be yet another outside source. Best to trust yourself & seek within!

As Seeds says, often the answers we seek lie within us... But during emotional and confusing times we cannot see this, it's like the saying... You can't see the wood for the trees!

At those times tarot/oracle or any kind of divination tools can unlock what is hidden inside us, giving guidance and hopefully clarity during difficult and indecisive times.... :)

Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.
Tip toe if you must,
But take the step.

Having had a foot in both camps over a number of years I think I'd say yes in many ways, but no in others. Therapy is "governed" by a set of checks and balances which stop the therapist from "guiding" a client rather than allowing them to find their own path. However Tarot has an advisory content when used in a predictive sense. And of course it is also capable of highlighting future events in certain circumstances. This, of course, is not the realm of therapy. I do though feel very strongly that any advice offered in context of a card reading has to be done sensitively and with a deep-seated sense of responsibility on the part of the reader.

Remember whence you came
Walk lightly, leaving whispers for footprints

I'd say no as the two are different. Tarot is good for minor issues, but the psychologist is better placed for larger, more serious matters.
