Old member, new member name...

Postby bw1ldrd » 10 Jul 2016, 07:55

I joined this forum some time ago and never got off to real start. Truth is, I forgot my old password and had to create a whole new profile. I'll keep my old username a secret (don't tell Jan :D ) just to make things fun, lol ;-).
I've found the spreads forum invaluable and use some of them to this day. Jan's insight on each card can be a revelation sometimes and, I hope to be able to actually give some personal input in future.
Anyway, thanks for having me and, "Keep the Faith".

Peace.... Rick Anderson

Hello Jan and Friends!

I love your site! Do you know of anyone that keeps (or do you keep) a running list of the Card of the Day? Over the years I've noticed there aren't too many "bad" cards that come up. I've seen the Nine of Cups come up an awful lot though! Also, can you tell me when you introduced the CotD? I follow it faithfully each day you pull it. I mostly get an external influence (world scene). I think that means I don't pay enough attention to my own growth or, at least karmic patterns. Could or, would you give me some feedback on this?
I can see my move to another town didn't fool you, lol.

Peace,
Rick
P.S.- What sorta quote should I look for and, how do I go about posting it? Even at my age I'm rather new at this forum thing.

Can't help you with the card of the day but I can help with the quote. You don't have to have one but if you do pick one that inspires you. You then go into yourset up and place it in the signature box and you're done.

Sorry to be late to the party here.....story of my life that one is.....

Back in the dim and distant past I used to keep a record of the CotD....but it got too long. I guess in the immediacy you could see how far Facebook lets you scroll back.

I am always astounded how rarely the really rough cards come up. Funnily enough I usually do my own daily 7-card pull before drawing the CorD...that can be littered with baddies....yet when it comes to the CotD shuffle here comes another optimistic one. I have been known to spit feathers on occasion with the contrast ;-) That said though, I don't really see the CotD as "mine" if you follow me....it belongs in my head for all of you.

Maybe you're all just stunningly hopeful.

i've noticed that the cards tend to be very hopeful for the most part, too. i know that this isn't the actual thread, but i remember when here in the states donald trump was voted into office, and the very day after the election the COD was the tower. whoa! but, i think i'm pretty hopeful, speaking to what Jan says about us perhaps being a hopeful bunch!

Considering current events you have to hope that Tower does not presage the loosing of an atomic weapon into our world, don't you? I have to admit I am feeling the temptation to climb under my desk every time there's an update on news right now.

But yes...largely the CotD certainly seems to be positive...or at least strong and challenging...most of the time. I am actually really quite thoughtful when I cut on something we rarely see. I think maybe I afford it greater importance purely because of its rarity, you know?
