rose buds - but its nearly winter!

Postby newroser » 19 Oct 2013, 08:38

Hi all

My shrub rose in a pot is new this summer. It did its garden centre encouraged roses early this summer and I deadheaded afterwards. Now its got buds on each pruned shoot - some more developed than others - but it's getting quite cold and I don't know if they'll open on the bush. If I cut at bud stage, how likely are they to open in a vase, do you think? They're lovely champagne coloured blooms, quite well scneted. I'd hate to waste them and there arent many bees looking for nectar now so quite keen to bring them in.

Thanks all x

I keep a distance from the truth of me to come to your reality.
