| | Hello,Everyone.Didn't realise the site had crashed, thought it was just a problem with my lap-top.Have been trying to visit forums all week.Just found this topic and felt exactly like Angelbaby's Mummy-very confused and anxious and for the same reasons.I pray for people known and otherwise and for many people on the forums and would hate to think that I could have caused any harm by doing so.I think you've clarified that now though.Obviously, when praying, the outcome is placed in the hands of a Higher Authority and although we might make wrong decisions He/She/It? surely cannot. In that way, I believe our prayer is safeguarded.Am I right to think that it is okay to ask for prayer for an individual on the healing forum without their permission but that healing must be authorised by the recipient? |

| To paraphrase the Northern Irish saying, "Pray for 'em all - let God/etc sort 'em out".
If you can teach someone to hate, you can also teach them to love - Corrie Ten Boom
The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears - Laurel Burch
Heaven receive its feathered guest - Mavis Crow has flown the nest! (after Auden)
Where there are crows, there there is magic. The crow is a symbol of good luck - she is the cleaner of the world. (native peoples) |

| | We need to go back to the root of what we're talking about here...there is a very big difference between commending somebody to a high power who/which is in a position to know what the greater good of the individual concerned is - though of course some people would object if you referred their ailment to the Horned One or the Goddess if they happen not to believe in those concepts; and an active willed healing of any sort whatsoever. Acts of healing can be defined in many ways...the laying on of hands (whether on the person or on a substitute dedicated to the purpose); colour channelling; energy manipulation; reiki; poppet magick; raising altars; grid healing with crystals; candle magick; etc etc. The very second you enter into direct relation with your subject with the intention of bringing about a healing, or helping to contribute to one, you are undertaking a directed act of healing... As always it is in the intent. To pray for somebody is a much more generalised thing....especially if you are wise enough to make your prayers the sort that give your higher power a little discretion. Hope that clarifies things a bit. Loadsa love

| | Thanks Jan and all contributors for outlining this in clear definition! I've had a couple of big ouchy lessons that you can't/shouldn't adjust someone's life path. I/you cant teach them what they need to know unless they ask for advice or help. If they havent asked its probably not what they actually need anyhow, more like what YOu think they need, and that usually boils down to ulterior motives. These kind of threads leave me feeling really naive and inexperienced. I'm not a healer, but I have empathic moments which attracts people to me if they want to talk or have a cuddle. thats quite a nice thing, but when I first discovered my blessing I am somewhat ashamed to admit I did get a little big for my boots and stated 'interfering' thinking I knew best. I very qucikly learnt my limitations and was shown where and how I could grow, which was probably the biggets blessing of all. Now I can play to my strengths for other people. But I've yet to sort myself out! But back to the point, thanks again for the reminder. Its good to give, but also great to wait til youre asked. xx

| Hello, I'm a newbie here. I do quite a lot of distant/remote healing for people who have asked for it. I always ask that this be done for the Highest Good.
We are only human and don't know what is in store for the recipients of healing. I always ask that the AA Raphael surrounds the recipient too.
I think as long as we do it for the Highest Good, then all will be as it should be.

Love and Light

| Dear Jan, I have just read this piece and it makes so much more sense now. It is me being selfish to want him well when I do not know his direct feelings towards his illness and whether is to serve as a lesson learnt for everyone around him. I thank you deeply for steering me in the right direction and that I can only pray for my brother in law to be well again. (huggy healing forum 12/12/06).
Many thanks, Kim xxx |

| | Ah Kim, I'm glad you understood. I think the reaction you had in the first instance is a very common one. It's absolutely gut-wrenching watching something like this and desperately wishing you could do something to help. I'm fortunate that the whole Karmic aspect of life experience has been so strongly drummed into me that it's a bit like second nature. I really hope that whatever happens with your brother-in-law, it feels like the right thing at the time. Good luck to you and yours...and good energy to you personally if you want it, so that you can act as an oasis of peace for your family. Loadsa love

| Thank you Jan for pointing this out. For me i know I'm not at this level, I'm learning more each day but would never interfere with anything I'm not qualified to do or yet not fully understand.
IGI blessings to all |
