Green

Green is red's complementary opposite. It's a stable earthy colour which stabilises the emotions and eases grief. It corresponds to the Heart chakra. It induces a sense of security and safety.

In therapy the tone of green used is vernal - fresh like new leaves in the Springtime. This is the colour to use when dealing with shock, severe emotional pain, mental unrest and bereavement.

Darker tones are very strong and supportive, though they can tend to be heavy if used for too long or in too great a quantity...in decor for instance.

If over-exposed a person will develop inflexibility and ingrained habitual patterns.

The pale tones are fresh and energising, but maintain the stability of mid green. These are much easier to live with in decor.
