Blue

Blue relates to the throat chakra. In its true shade it is protective and quite energising, provoking a steady stream of tranquil yet powerful energy.

Darker tones move towards formality, truth, and sincerity. Always good colours to wear when you're looking for a loan!!! Really dark blue relates to the upholding of the Law (the spiritual Law as against necessarily man's laws), indicating a dedicated and committed spirit.

Blue is also stabilising and balanced. Deeper blues bring security, and a sense of familiarity - they're slightly formal (though with only highlights this won't be that obvious) and ordered.

Lighter tones emphasise the tranquil relaxing qualities in the true shade, also having the effectof reducing pain, calming inflammation and stiling the mind. this is why blue is such a good colour to meditate surrounded by.

There's a slightly other-worldly effect to the light tones which disaossociates you from mundane life and gives your spirit a lift. Course that can be a bit unhelpful when you're meant to be concentrating.

In healing paler blues are primarily used for painful or inflammatory conditions, for anxiety and extreme nervousness, and for panic conditions.

Mid-blues are very effective to induce security and self-reliance.
